Indonesia Best Workplaces™ 2022

Great Place To Work®  is pleased to announce the inaugural Indonesia Best Workplaces™ award that will take place on 29 June 2022. This award honors the very best organizations that are effective in building high-performing cultures where employees trust their leaders, are proud of what they do, and enjoy the people they work with.

Businesses in Indonesia have faced severe disruptions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Policies intended to control the spread of the virus, are necessary, but will cause operational challenges for businesses in Indonesia. Companies have to rapidly move operations online and as a result, had to expedite technology adoption and invest in new equipment, software or digital solution. Some had to adjust the workforce and implement job furloughs. Those of who remained had to contend with connecting with one another without the benefit of “face time”.

Whilst this crisis has brought unprecedented challenges for people and society, Great Place To Work® Indonesia is humbled to recognize a select group of organizations who have chosen to pull through for their people and communities. We call them Indonesia Best Workplaces™.

Methodology to determine Indonesia Best Workplaces™

Companies that want to be on Indonesia Best Workplace™ list start by getting Great Place To Work-Certified™. To be certified, companies are required to launch the Trust Index© survey, designed to quantify how much trust your employees experience in the workplace, and to complete a Culture Brief questionnaire, which asks background questions about your workforce demographics and details that will be shared in your Certified Company profile.

From the list of currently Great Place To Work Certified companies in Indonesia that meet the basic criteria for the Indonesia Best Workplaces List, we then use our For All Methodology to evaluate companies that meet the List criteria. 85% of our evaluation focuses on the core of what creates great workplaces: whether employees trust the people they work for and whether all employees are able to reach their full human potential, no matter who they are or what they do. We look at these experiences relative to each company’s size to compare peers to peers.

From our research, we also know that the best workplaces stand out because of their employees’ daily experiences of three areas: innovation, their company’s values, and their leaders’ effectiveness. Therefore, the remaining 15% of our scoring is based on these factors and how consistently they’re experienced by all groups.

Finally, we check major relevant events, news, and financial growth over time. We want to ensure that there aren’t any extraordinary reasons to believe that we couldn’t trust a company’s survey results.

Companies that made it to Indonesia Best Workplaces will be eligible for consideration for Asia Best Workplaces 2022.

Great Place To Work identifies Best Workplaces in Asia™ by surveying 2.1 million employees in Asia and the Middle East about the key factors that create great workplaces for all and analyzing company workplace programs impacting 5.9 million employees in the region.

To be considered, companies must first be identified as outstanding in their local region by appearing on one or more of our Best Workplaces lists in Bahrain, Greater China (including China, Hong Kong and Taiwan), India, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Oman, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, UAE, Vietnam during 2022 or early 2023.

Companies rank in three size categories: Small and Medium (10-499 employees); Large (500+); and Multinational. Multinational organizations are also assessed on their efforts to create great workplaces across multiple countries in the region. They must appear on at least two national lists in Asia and the Middle East and have at least 1,000 employees worldwide with at least 40% (or 5,000+) of those employees located outside the headquarters country.

To determine the 2023 Indonesia Best Workplaces™, Great Place To Work®️ analyzed confidential survey feedback representing nearly 20,000 employees across different industries in Indonesia.

Employees responded to over 60 survey questions describing the extent to which their organization creates a Great Place To Work For All™️. 85% of the evaluation is based on what employees say about their experiences of trust and reaching their full human potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or what they do.

Great Place To Work analyzes these experiences relative to each organization’s size, workforce make up, and what’s typical in their industry. The remaining 15% of the rank is based on an assessment of all employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values, and the effectiveness of their leaders, to ensure they’re consistently experienced.

To be considered, companies had to meet the Great Place To Work-Certified™ standard. To ensure survey results truly represent all employees, Great Place To Work requires that Trust Index©️ survey results are accurate to a 95% confidence level with a 5% margin of error or better.

We review any anomalies in survey responses, news and financial performance to ensure there aren’t any extraordinary reasons to believe we couldn’t trust a company’s survey results.
