Best Workplaces in Indonesia 2026: Lessons From The Best

CATEGORIES

What separates Indonesia’s Best Workplaces™ is the everyday experience of work: whether leaders keep their word, people are treated fairly, and employees feel they have a real stake in what happens next.

Every year Cisco Indonesia employees are encouraged to spend up to ten days volunteering, on causes they choose themselves. As Managing Director Cin Cin Go says, that is an exceptionally powerful way to live a company’s values.

On 21 July, Cisco Indonesia was named among the 25 winners of the Best Workplaces in Indonesia 2026 list, built from surveys of 125,000 employees across the country. The winners live a long way above that line. Here is how the winners from each catagory, Cisco Indonesia, PT Acer Indonesia and Marriott International, do it.

How does community build a great workplace?

“At Cisco, giving back is a fundamental part of our culture. Through our Time2Give initiative, employees are encouraged to dedicate up to 10 days to support the causes and communities that matter to them. I’ve seen firsthand how this not only boosts engagement and well-being among our team but also creates a meaningful, lasting impact in our local communities.” – Cin Cin Go, Managing Director, Cisco Indonesia

Acer Indonesia runs a similar play with a sustainability twist. Its #SayangBumi program, named for the Indonesian phrase for loving the Earth, recruits employees as volunteers and ambassadors who teach the next generation about responsible e-waste management.

President Director Leny Ng says the program “strengthens employee pride, purpose, and collaboration while creating measurable benefits for the community. It exemplifies how a great workplace extends its positive impact beyond the office and into society.” In both cases the company hands over something scarce, working hours, and gets pride back.

What does putting people first look like in practice?

Ramesh Jackson, Marriott’s Regional Vice President for Indonesia and Malaysia, roots the hotel group’s culture in something older than any HR framework. “Indonesia has always been a country built on the spirit of togetherness, where communities lift one another up and inspire each other to become the best version of themselves,” Jackson says.

“At Marriott, our Putting People First philosophy reflects exactly those values.”

The logic is commercial as well as cultural. “We believe that when our associates are cared for, supported, and given opportunities to grow, they are inspired to create extraordinary experiences for our guests while making a meaningful impact in the communities they call home.”

Jackson is precise about where the credit belongs. “This recognition belongs to our associates, whose passion, dedication, and commitment make Marriott a truly great place to work.”

What does winning a Best Workplaces in Indonesia award change?

For Acer, the survey behind the badge did some uncomfortable, useful work. “The certification process provided meaningful insights into the employee experience, helping us better understand our strengths while identifying opportunities to enhance engagement, communication, and overall workplace culture,” Ng says.

The payoff showed up in hiring. Certification “has strengthened employee pride, supported our employer branding efforts, and helped us attract and retain talented individuals who share our values.”

Ng puts the underlying belief simply. “We have always believed that a good workplace culture is not built through policies alone, but through how we treat each other, with genuine respect, trust, and care.”

For Cisco, the award has a job to do. “Being named a Best Workplace is a celebration of our shared experience at Cisco and serves as a compass guiding us on how to continue listening and responding to what matters most to our people,” Go says.

Best Workplaces in Indonesia: your questions answered

What is the Best Workplaces in Indonesia list?

The Best Workplaces in Indonesia list is published annually by Great Place To Work, the global authority on workplace culture. The 2026 edition recognised 25 winning companies across small, medium and large categories, selected from surveys of 125,000 employees nationwide.

Rankings rest on the Trust Index Survey, which measures how employees experience trust at work. A place on the list is earned solely through what employees report anonymously about their own workplace experience.

How does a company get on the Best Workplaces in Indonesia list?

First, earn Great Place To Work Certification by surveying employees through the Trust Index Survey and meeting the certification threshold. Only Certified companies are eligible for list consideration, and only the top performers reach the final 25. The 2026 list drew on responses from 125,000 employees, so the sample is large and the bar is high. Applications open through Great Place To Work Indonesia, with deadlines published on its website each cycle.

Which companies won Best Workplaces in Indonesia 2026?

The full list names 25 winners across three size categories, revealed at the Westin Jakarta on 21 July 2026. This article profiles Cisco Indonesia, PT Acer Indonesia and Marriott International, whose leaders shared how volunteering, sustainability education and people-first management shaped their results. The complete Best Workplaces in Indonesia 2026 list, including every winner by category, sits on the Great Place To Work Indonesia website alongside each company’s certification details.

Is Great Place To Work Certification worth it?

Winners say yes, for practical reasons. Acer Indonesia’s President Director Leny Ng credits certification with strengthening employee pride, supporting employer branding and helping the company attract and retain talent that shares its values. The survey data also shows leaders where engagement and communication need attention. Cisco Indonesia describes the recognition as a compass for listening to employees. For HR leaders building a business case, certification pairs external credibility with an honest internal diagnostic.
